Just 1-hour drive away from Los Angeles, you can escape from the city and take a short ferry ride to Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula. The ocean water is as clear as day, and the people are friendly right away! You can explore the areas on your bike, or you can stroll around on foot.

I'm not going to lie, I did get a little confused about which area of Balboa Island I was in but no matter where I explored it was absolutely gorgeous with good vibes and views. You just can't go wrong in this area. I highly recommend it for solo, couple, and group travel.
